The Club
The Milan Golf Club is the welcoming and exclusive home of its members and of every golfer who, while respecting the etiquette and rules of the Club, wishes to share the spirit of the game on its historic courses and in the iconic clubhouse.
The Club is nestled in the Royal Park of Monza, with its three courses covering an area of nearly 100 hectares, blending perfectly with nature and its biodiversity.
The route
The three trails wind within the majestic forest of the Royal Park of Monza, which covers an area of nearly 700 hectares, one of the largest historical parks in Europe and the largest entirely surrounded by walls.
History
The Milan Golf Club was born on May 8, 1928 thanks to the vision and tireless work of Senator Giuseppe Bevione.
The design of the field was entrusted to architect James Peter Gannon and construction management to Cecil Blandford, who later also served as Club Secretary.
As soon as it arose, the club consisted of 9 holes and was based in King Victor Emmanuel II's Fagianaia. Later, in 1933, the course was expanded to 18 holes. In the spring of 1958, then-president Gianni Albertini, promoted the construction of the current clubhouse, one of the most beautiful in Europe, and the third course, thus bringing the course to 27 holes. Design and construction management of the building were entrusted to architects Vietti and Buzzi, and those of the course to Giulio Cavalsani, then secretary of the Club and later a golf course designer, who-in just three years-built a superb 27-hole course. The three trails, which wind within Monza Park, cover an area of nearly 700 hectares.
Milan Golf Club has hosted numerous national and international championships, as well as 9 editions of the Italian Open: 1951, 1952, 1956, 1981, 1984, 1990, 2015, 2016 and 2017.
