Regulations
All G.C. Milan Members who take part in the qualifying races highlighted in these rules may participate in the Social Championship.
Game formula - qualifying
The qualifying rounds will be held on a Stroke Play Medal formula.
The 3rd category players interested in qualifying for the Social Championship must compete in the individual events using the medal formula compulsorily.
Results obtained from Advanced Tees (green/orange) will not be considered valid except for Under 12 Players with Handicap Index greater than 11.4 who, as per FIG regulations, are required to start from Advanced Tees.
Valid races
The following players/players will enter the match-play matches, based on the 4 best results out of 10:
| Male Absolute | the top eight qualifiers in the overall “gross” ranking ; |
| Women’s Absolute | the top four qualifiers in the overall “gross” ranking; |
| Senior Male (Over 50) | The top four qualifiers in the “net” classification; |
| Senior Women’s (Over 50) | The top four qualifiers in the “net” standings; |
| Juniors Absolute | the first/four qualifiers in the “net” classification |
*For the two “Silver Lingotto” trials, the formula published on the competition calendar was revised, providing 18 holes, 1st and 2nd Category Medal, 3rd Category Stableford, Hcp.
Equality cases - qualifications
The following will be considered, in order: best discarded lap; remaining best discarded laps; best valid lap; remaining best valid laps; draw;
- Matches for the Men’s and Women’s Absolute Social Championship will be played on a Match-Play Scratch format with starts from the white/blue plates.
- M/F Senior Social Championship matches will be played on a Match-Play handicap format with starts from the yellow and red plates. Seniors players are allowed to use the advanced tees with prior notification to the secretary prior to the start of the match.
- The Junior Social Championship matches will be played on a Match-Play handicap formula. Players Under 12, with hcp Index >11.4 will start from the advanced tees.
Meeting rounds and Finals
Match pairings, as well as the due dates for each round, will be posted on the bulletin board and on the club’s website.
Prizes will be awarded to the winners and finalists in each category.
*Note: displaying rankings of Social championships:
With the WHS coming into effect, Gesgolf software settings do not allow the rankings for the Social Championships to be generated correctly. Competitors who will have played the individual qualifying rounds using the Stableford formula, and scored on one or more holes an “X,” while appearing in the rankings, will not be considered in the ranking for access to the match play rounds.

the Winner of the Mid Amateur Championship will be invited to the Mid Amateur Golf Trophy 2025 National Final (date and place of the Final to be determined).
